Sharing Joy to the world happens in big ways and small. In this season, we are reminded of the greatest act of 'Joy to the World' we will ever know, a baby lying in a manger.
We are so grateful for friends like you. Thank you for bearing others in mind, for remembering the lonely, the unsure and the isolated, for championing fruitfulness and for spreading the message of Joy.
Our prayer is that you and your loved ones will continue to experience the joy that Jesus brings.
Happy Christmas and God bless you.
Over 76,000 people tried Alpha in 2021. Each number represents a precious journey, and we give God all the glory for each one. The Alpha Australia Storybookincludes dozens of wonderful stories of how God is encountering people and changing lives.
Many people are experiencing the true meaning of Christmas for the first time this year. We want to take a moment to sincerely thank every Church and Alpha leader who has opened up spaces for people to explore faith in 2021. We celebrate you for who you are and the impact you have made.
Our prayer for this Christmas season and 2022 is simple; 'Come, Holy Spirit.'
"Advent is the time we are given to welcome the Lord who comes to encounter us, and also to verify our longing for God, to look forward and prepare ourselves for Christ's return."
'Tis the season to put up your Christmas tree, decorate your house with fairy lights, enjoy dinners with family and friends, and buy gifts at shopping centre's where it's close to impossible to find parking...
All of these things are great and can be exciting in building up the excitement towards Christmas. But when the 'to-do' list and the busyness of the season takes over, the Christmas season can cause more anguish and stress than joy.
This is the blessing of the Advent Season - the start of a new liturgical year. Advent is a time when we can step back, slow down and contemplate the mystery and joy of the Incarnation. It is the season to renew our joy, hope, faith and love.
What can you do in this Season of Advent, to prepare your heart, mind and soul for Jesus' birth at Christmas?

FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING Local World Youth Day Celebration
The torrential rain didn't dampen Sydney Catholic Youth's and Sydney Catholic School's first, large gathering since the lockdown.
On the Feast of Christ the King at St Mary's Cathedral on Sunday, 24th November, over 800 young people, clergy, religious, school students, youth leaders, youth groups and families for Mass with Archbishop Anthony Fisher.
This marked the new day for the annual World Youth Day Celebration which has previously been held on Palm Sunday since St John Paul II began the tradition in 1985. Pope Francis announced at the end of last year that he "...decided, beginning next year to transfer the Diocesan celebration of WYD from Palm Sunday to Christ the King Sunday". This allows youth and young people to celebrate the young Church without needing to balance it with spiritual preparation for Holy Week.
Thank you to all who came along - it was a joy to celebrate with you!
