St Patrick's College Ballarat apology to child sexual abuse survivors
About 100 people gathered at St Patrick's College on Tuesday afternoon as the school took the momentous step of officially apologising to victims of sexual abuse who suffered during their time at the college.
Sexual abuse survivor Phil Nagle joined headmaster John Crowley and student leaders in speaking at the event in what was an historic first for the school.
On Thursday we learnt that the Victorian Police have laid historical child sexual abuse charges against Cardinal Pell. Speculation to this end had been mounting for some time.
Australia's justice system is highly regarded. It is in the interests of all involved that the system is now left to run its course.

The CEO of the Catholic Church's Truth Justice and Healing Council, Mr Francis Sullivan, addressed the annual Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) National Assembly this week taking about the future of the Church in Australia as the Royal Commission nears the end of its term.
Speaking with the leaders of the more than 180 congregations and religious institutes in Melbourne Mr Sullivan said the Church in Australia now faces the challenge of a post Royal Commission agenda.
