What's on in August?
Our year is flying by and there is much happening over the coming months. This month focuses on St Mary MacKillop as an example of merciful care and love for all those she met in her travels.
At the end of this month we celebrate Migrant and Refugee Sunday – a time to celebrate our cultural diversity and reflect upon how we individually and collectively can welcome newly arrived refugees into our communities.
By now you will hopefully have received the Catholic Faith & Life calendar for July – November 2016. It is packed full of opportunities to deepen our faith, the practise of our ministry and engagement with social issues.
Below is what's happening for August.
Liturgy Notes
Liturgy Notes is now available at www.liturgydow.org.au including music suggestions for July and August, Children's liturgy suggestions for August, the latest information on the Year of Mercy, and the latest updates to the Liturgy Handbook.
Led by Sr Colleen O'Sullivan rsj, this workshop will reflect upon how the lens of mercy inspired St Mary MacKillop's thought and actions. Mary saw poverty and injustice around her and acted on what she saw through that lens. The group will then reflect on how today we are called to view our society, both local and global, through the twin lens of mercy and love.
