Easter Sunday Invitation

You're invited to Easter at The South West Sydney Catholic Guy Impact Centre! This is one of our favorite times of the year, as we gather across Australia to celebrate the resurrection, victory, and hope of Jesus.
The Resurrection was the greatest battle ever to be won. In one moment, death was overcome by love.  As the morning sun welcomes a new day, the love of God shone brilliantly across the earth. The heavens rejoiced with a resounding anthem as the angel declared at the tomb, He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.
I'm really looking forward to the Easter Service we have planned for you and the family or friends you bring this year. 'The Story of Easter' is an inspiring experience for the whole family.
Easter Sunday:
27th March 11AM
Campbelltown Catholic Club,
20-22 Camden Road, Campbelltown.
For more information call 1300 734 880 or email
Can't wait to celebrate with you this weekend.
Happy Easter!!!

That's right people! There's only 4 more weeks to go until registrations close for World Youth Day Poland! The pilgrimages are really starting to fill up now and there are only limited places so we really encourage any young adults who are still thinking about whether God may be calling them to attend, to really start praying hard and fast. Time is ticking and excitement is growing as we are only 4 months from this once in a lifetime experience. And the good news is that while registrations close in four weeks there are eight weeks until full payments are due. Click here to view his WYD Schedule!

The Pope noted the 31st World Youth Day, commemorated on Palm Sunday, which will culminate in the "great world Meeting in Krakow," Poland, this summer. The theme of this year's World Youth Day is "Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy." "I hope that many of you can come to Krakow, the homeland of Saint John Paul II, the founder of World Youth Day," Pope Francis said. "We entrust to his intercession the final months of preparation for this pilgrimage, in the context of the Holy Year of Mercy, will be the Jubilee of the Young People at the level of the Universal Church."
The Youth Festival Line up has been released!

United call for national redress

A collective of leading organisations representing child abuse victims have come together to call on the Federal Government to show real leadership and announce its concrete commitment to a National Redress Scheme for survivors of institutional childhood sexual abuse.

In a joint media statement representatives from Adults Surviving Child Abuse, Care Leavers Australasia Network, the Truth, Justice and Healing Council, the Australian Council of Social Service and People with Disability Australia Incorporated have called for immediate action from Australia's governments to deliver real justice and healing to Australian survivors of child sexual abuse.

Frankly speaking...

Last week, for the first time, the peak child abuse survivors groups and the Catholic Church came together as one voice to call on governments across the nation to get on with national redress.

Lateline last week ran a story calling on CSA files to be effectively dumped at the doors of the Royal Commission and the Victorian Police despite the Commission and the Police already having some and not calling for more. As I've said many times if they want more they will get them.

Easter is here: a time of rebirth and renewal in every part of our lives and in our Church.

Latest from the Council

Commission public hearing into sporting clubs and institutions

The Royal Commission will hold a public hearing in Sydney from Monday 4 April 2016 into child sexual abuse in sporting clubs including Tennis Australia, the NSW Institute of Sport and Football NSW.

The inquiry will also examine the way in which several major sporting organisations respond to allegations of child sexual abuse.

RC Consultation paper: Responding to CSA in Instituitons

The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse has released a consultation paper on best practices in responding to complaints of child sexual abuse in institutions.

The Royal Commission is keen to ensure that all complaints of child sexual abuse in institutions are dealt with in an appropriate, timely and responsible manner no matter what the scenario or institution.

The consultation paper is seeking submissions on the best-practice principles, matters that should be canvassed in a model complaint handling policy and how these matters might be addressed.

The TJHC is currently considering a response on behalf of the Catholic Church in Australia.
