Advent Program - Waiting in Joyful Hope

What are you hoping for this Advent? Christmas in Australia can be a long time coming. The decorations and canned music appear in the shops soon after Fathers' Day in September. Our diary begins to fill with the round of end-of-year parties and Christmas shopping becomes our main agenda as we search for something for the relatives that will be pleasing but not break the budget. Perhaps we might just be hoping for some spare time and peace and quiet. It's good to take some time out to dig a little deeper than

what preoccupies us on the surface.

Join us through Advent, commencing this Sunday 30th November, as we work through this four-week program.

Where: St John the Evangelist Hall, Cordeaux St, Campbelltown

When: Sunday 6pm-8pm

Cost: Gold coin donation

“A Rich Young Nation: the challenge of affluence and poverty in Australia." - Sunday 6pm

"Australia is a rich country in many ways. It has experienced spectacular economic growth and prosperity in recent years, and increasingly our international economic status has become a symbol of our national identity. Yet in Australia there are many who are wealthy but in their affluence 'lack one thing' and there are those who have been bypassed by the economic growth and prosperity and live in poverty."

FaithworX is holding an evening reflection on the 2008 Social Justice Statement: "A Rich Young Nation: the challenge of affluence and poverty in Australia." led by Brother Michael.

When: Sunday November 23rd. 6pm
Where: St John's Hall, Cordeaux Street Campbelltown

 All are most welcome.
