Faith and Life News and Events - November 2008 Update
Peace be with you.
This issue includes information on Stewardship Gatherings, Vatican II Seminar, Advent and Lenten Programs.
18 November, 10.30am – 12.30pm Tahmoor OR 7.00pm – 9.30pm Corrimal
These gatherings offer a good introduction to stewardship both in a parish/school setting as well as in one's personal life. They are also a great way for those involved in stewardship to network and share ideas and resources. Please do not think you need to be on a stewardship committee to attend! These events offer an opportunity to explore our giftedness together. Please contact Helen Bennett on (02) 4253 0900 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
LIVING OUR FAITH IN CHRIST - VATICAN II SEMINAR

This year's Vatican II seminar is entitled: Living Our Faith in Christ. The day considers what it means to be a lay person in the Church. Our keynote speaker, Dr Bill Connell fms, along with a rich variety of workshops in the beautiful grounds of Chevalier College make this a memorable opportunity. Morning tea and lunch are included. Many WYD participants will also enjoy the music and catechesis style of the day. Bishop Peter will be attending again this year and sees it as an important event in the life of the diocese. 2009 LENTEN PROGRAM – LORD, TEACH US TO PRAY
Our 2009 Lenten Program focuses on our life of prayer. The weekly themes are:
What is prayer?
How do we pray?
Does God answer our prayer?
Prayer in action
Prayer in suffering
When God is absent.
The Lenten program is furthered enhanced with reflections from Diocese of Wollongong parishioners on their life of prayer and weekly Prayer Points offering practical advice. A special CD is offered in conjunction with the program, featuring 17 tracks, including hymns both old and new in our Catholic tradition. As with previous years, the program is adaptable to both group and personal use. Parish groups will naturally order through the parish. I attach an order form for individuals or groups who seek to use the program in other settings. Please contact Jane Edwards on (02) 4253 0900 or email email@example.com
