Homestay final information

Dear Homestay Host

We are writing to you to invite you to a very important information meeting  to be held in St John's hall on Sunday the 6th of July at 6pm.
The meeting will be an opportunity to provide you with the latest information about "Homestay" and enable you to put any questions or concerns about the programme.
At the meeting we will supply you with specific information about the pilgrims staying with you, during WYD2008, such as names, race, gender and arrival times. Information packs have been prepared and will be given to you.
The response to the invitation to the Pope's Mass has been fantastic with over 95% of people accepting. We will issue the passes, to those taking up the offer, at the meeting.
To enable us to organise the particular information for approximately 80 Homestay hosts we would ask you to RSVP (by the 1st of July) by phoning  your coordinator if you have received a letter or by replying if you have received an email.
Light refreshments will be available after the meeting.
The Campbelltown Homestay Coordinators are very excited as WYD is now so close and we are looking forward to seeing you all again.
Thank you, once again, for your generosity.
God Bless

Come join us on Thursdays at 2pm for some Bible sharing. The group has only just started, and there's only Myself, Kevin and Brother John at the moment. We would love some more company :)

An enjoyable experience getting to know God's Word that bit better. Very friendly atmosphere with rumours of biscuits making an appearance at the next meeting....

Hope to see you there!

FaithWorx - Sunday 6:30pm - The Need for Personal Hope

Join us as Ray Reid explores

The Need for Personal Hope

        When: Sunday, 22nd June 6:30pm-8pm

Where: St John the Evangelist Hall, Meeting Room

Cordeaux St, Campbelltown

Cost: Gold coin donation

This presentation, The Need for Personal Hope, is a reprise of the talk that Ray gave at the Catholic Adult Education Centre at Lidcombe in February 2008.

The talk is on hope from a psychological perspective (including spiritual aspects). Ray will look at our fundamental and intrinsic hopes for being happy and fulfilled, linking these hopes with our need to love and be loved. The talk also covers aspects of false hope and its origin.

About the Presenter:

Campbelltown parishioner Ray Reid is a counselor with qualifications in social work, psychology and philosophy. He has strong interest in theology and spirituality. He has worked in Centacare agencies for nearly 30 years. His thesis for his Master's degree in social work was on the psychology of hope, and his understanding of the importance of hope has underpinned all his counseling work.

WYD Meeting Next Sunday 6pm

Hi All:
Only one month to go to WYD!!!! It is time to get organised for the arrival of the Pilgrims during WYD week as well as making final arrangements with our own pilgrims.
This coming Sunday we will have a WYD meeting at 6pm after Mass to: (i) get people excited; (ii) get people involved; (iii) get people organised.
I have a 15 minute DVD from Wollongong showing images of the JCI through Wollongong set to music, which I think would be good to start us off and relive the JCI experience and get the Spirit fired up.
Following this we will discuss what will be happening during the WYD week:
- Pilgrims staying in homestay
- Pilgrims staying in the hall
- how our CYC will join and interact with the Pilgrims
- How the CYC week-long and week-end only Pilgrims will meet up
- additional support requirements (assistance of the "oldies") such as transport, food, materials, etc.
- the money situation
Following this a time for non-pilgrims to sign-up to help out in the Parish, pilgrims to pay their subsidy, and hopefully sale of some merchandise.
I will prepare some flyers for the masses this weekend for people as they leave mass together with a WYD sticker [while stocks last!].
Hope to see you there!
