Into Great Silence (G) 161 mins

Synopsis: The Grande Chartreuse, the mother house of the legendary Carthusian Order, is based in the French Alps. 'Into Great Silence' will be the first film ever about life inside the Grande Chartreuse. Silence. Repitition. Rhythm. The film is an austere, next to silent meditation on monastic life in a very pure form. No music except the chants in the monastery, no interviews, no commentaries, no extra material. Changing of time, seasons, and the ever repeated elements of the day, of the prayer. A film to become a monastery, rather than depict one. A film about awareness, absolute presence, and the life of men who devoted their lifetimes to god in the purest form.

Director:Philip Gröning

Cast:the Carthusian Order

Origin:Germany

FaithWorx - Eucharist + Bible Study - Sunday 6:30pm St Johns Hall Meeting Room

Last week we continued our discussion on the Sacraments. We looked at how and when confirmation fits into the other sacraments as well as seeing that we are "strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed." (Catechism 1285)

We commenced our look at the Eucharist, the mystery of it being both the peak of our faith while at the same time being the most common practive. We posed the question "What is unique about being Catholic?".

You are invited to join us this week as we continue to uncover

The Eucharist

Where: St John's Hall meeting room
TIme: Sunday 6:30pm (following 5pm mass)

How do you explain our belief about the Eucharist to others? Come and share your thoughts and experiences.

Also this week will we look at the readings for Sunday:
 Fifth Sunday of Easter
  Acts 14:21-27
  Rev 21:1-5a
  Jn 13:31-33a, 34-35

You are welcome to join us for another interesting FaithWorx discussion and cuppa.
